Hi Nicole.. this is something I’ve known about for awhile but wasn’t at liberty to talk about, but now that I can speak up, I can tell you that I’m really excited for this possibility! I’m pulling for her 100%!! As far as making a team in the WNBA only time will tell if her skill level is good enough, but I can tell you she is extremely disciplined and determined. She is 34 but I can tell you, she’s not normal (and I mean that as a huge compliment!!) LoL…. She has natural God given gifts, and her body is one of them! She’d still smoke any 23 year old for sure.. There’s a few things that she’ll really have to focus on. 1. obviously her basketball skills 2. her lateral speed… basketball isn’t a straight line, so getting her body to zig and zag when it needs to will be a challenge I think. BUT I hope she can pull it off. I just want that she gets a fair opportunity, that’s all anyone can ask for.. I hope that she reaches the goals she’s set for herself, and that her journey and story becomes one of the greatest success stories of all time! Some people in life are just meant to fly, she’s one of them. I’d love to see her get her wings back!

If you could have any other 4 players on the floor with you, past or present, who would they be?

Hey Marcus.. great question.. 1. Teresa Edwards 2. that’d have to be me I guess, lol, but I’d gladly back up Cynthia Cooper! 3. (this is a tough one!!) Diana T. or Sheryl S. 4. Lauren J. 5. Lisa L… of course I’m thinking of all these players as they were in their prime! That’s how I choose to remember them!!

How difficult is it to join a team when the season is already underway?
December 7th, 2009
Hi Becky,
I hope you are enjoying Spain!
You joined Ros in October and were playing almost immediatley after your arrival. How difficult is it to join a team when the season is already underway? And how difficult is it for you to make the transition from the WNBA style of play to the European style?
Hope you have an AWESOME Christmas!
Kristina

Merry Christmas to you and your family Kristina!! Joining a team mid way through a season does pose some different challenges. For me though, I try to just focus on whatever my team needs me to do. Its key to try and figure out your role on the team as soon as possible, and sometimes this can be difficult once rotations, trust, and camaraderie has been established. But for me here in Ros, I already know most of the girls, so they’ve made it a very smooth transition for me, and have made me feel very welcome!! Great teammates always makes the transition smooth, and shows alot of maturity and professionalism. As far as the style goes over here in Europe it is different from American style, but the transition becomes easier and easier with time. Most of us have been overseas before and know what to expect once we get here.

I would like to know is who are some of your favorite guards to play against? And what do you think of this next wave of point guards…(i.e Kristi Toliver, Renee Montgomery)

Hi Tiera.. I think there’s a lot of great young talent out there, and their first few years in the league they will have a very sharp learning curve. If they want to have a long career I think its important that they learn from the vets and continue to evolve their individual games, as well as the women’s game as a whole! They’re the future, so if they can tap into some old school vets I think it would serve them and the game well! A few of the guards I enjoy playing against (and also great professionals off the court, good resources to “tap into”) are Sue and Ticha. I love playing against these two guards because they’re very smart. Its a great challenge both mentally and physically. I’ve got great respect for both these guards and the way they think, and control the game.
