Previet fans from Moscow (November 2012)

Previet fans from Moscow!! I know its been forever since I last blogged, in fact I don't even remember what I last blogged about, but I want to start this one off by sending my prayers and condolences to those affected by Hurricane Sandy.  Sandy hit very close to home, literally, and my heart aches for those who lost lives and homes.  Houses, cars, furniture can all be rebuilt and replaced, but the lives that were lost can never be duplicated or replaced, and those who are left to grieve, their lives will never be the same either.. R.I.P... this too shall pass.. we will be ok..

These are rough times we are living in.. Unemployment still lingers around 8%, around 45 million people are on food stamps, one in six Americans are living on or below the poverty line.. America is hurting and the world is hurting!  It makes my heart ache with so many people hurting.  And I'm just as human as the next person, and sometimes if I dwell on that hurt for too long, it turns to anger.  I don't want to be an angry person; in fact I'm a pretty happy go lucky kind of person.  Never in America has relief and hope seemed like far off ideas, but those ideas now do seem elusive and distant, but don't lose hope! Don't give up, no matter what circumstances you may be facing, believe that there are brighter days ahead! To me, that's what America does represent, hope for the future! It's why people risk their lives to come to America. People literally will float on inner tubes on the open ocean for days to try to get to America. Individual hopes and freedoms. BUT it’s INDIVIDUALS that make up great families, communities, countries!!

As I've traveled the world, I've met many great/kind individuals, and they all have different stories and journeys!  All unique and special in their own way! But, if the individual loses hope, the family loses hope, when the family loses hope, the community loses hope, when the community loses hope, the state loses hope, and when the states lose hope the country loses hope.  And when countries lose hope, the world loses hope!!

I don't claim to be some superior thinker, but if there's one thing I've learned over the years, its that in actuality there is very little in this world that I control.. and one thing that I refuse to give control over to anyone or thing, is my attitude.  I'm in charge of that.  I own that, whether it be bad, good or indifferent, that's on me.  And even that (my attitude) I have to pray for, haha!!  It can be a daily chore/duty sometimes to choose to have a good day, to choose to be kind to others, choose to encourage others, choose to work hard, choose your thoughts carefully... thoughts become words, words become actions, and those actions turn out to be what your life becomes. But without hope as the anchor for your thoughts, you may just find yourself aimlessly floating through life on an inner tube in the middle of the ocean.. choose hope, even when it seems hopeless.. nothing is hoped for that you already hold in your hand, hope for what you do not have and cannot yet see!
